Rexroth cartridge valve 0810 040 958 compares the control value with the actual value by providing a current proportional to the system deviation, and controls the torque motor of the pilot control valve. The pilot control valve moves to the proportional control position and controls the flow into and out of control rooms a (7 and B (8). The main spool (5) is activated by a closed-loop control valve until the system deviation is 0. Therefore, the stroke of the main valve element is controlled by the proportion of the control value. It must be noted that the flow also depends on the pressure drop of the valve.
